Saturday,
October 26th
The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley's Annual Prayer Breakfast at New Beginning's Community Church in Wampsville, NY will be held on Saturday, October 26th. Start your day with breakfast, inspiration, fellowship, and faith.
Let's come together to strengthen our faith and support one another through life's challenges and triumphs. Our inspirational guest speakers will give you perspective on life, how to overcome the impossible, and how faith can shine a light when you need it the most. We invite you to join us for this spiritual event in celebration of the YMCA's Christian heritage and mission.
Our fundraising efforts help us to provide financial assistance to ensure that YMCA memberships and/or programs are available for all individuals and families in our community.
As a part of our commitment to supporting our community, we encourage you to bring a non-perishable food item or clothing item to be donated to our local pantry for those in need. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Meet Our 2024 Inspirational Guest Speakers
Jennie Johnson, Cokeville Miracle
Jennie Sorensen Johnson, a woman hailing from a small town in Wyoming, has a story of resilience, faith, and healing. Her journey began in the quiet streets of Cokeville, where the trauma she endured left an indelible mark on her soul. Jennie didn't remain trapped in the past. She channeled her pain into determination.
As she grew older, she discovered her love for numbers - balancing accounts and deciphering financial puzzles. Becoming a school business administrator and accountant allowed her to create order amidst chaos, much like piecing together the fragments of her own history.
By also surviving the Cokeville Miracle, serving on the Cokeville Miracle Foundation, and participating in the onset of T.C. Christensen's movie, The Cokeville Miracle, she learned to face her memories and acknowledge the little girl who had endured so much.
Through her work and her words, she hopes to inspire others to face their own shadows and to find faith and light in the darkest corners of memory.
