Gym Schedule

Learning Together (Ages 2-4)

The Parent Child Gym Awareness Class provides an opportunity for children and their parent/caregiver to gather weekly for structured, age appropriate classes.  Each class can incorporate music, rhymes and songs. Physical activities are used to stimulate the child’s awareness, encourage motor skill development, increase socialization skills and overall increase the child’s developmental abilities in a fun, safe environment.  This is an interactive class for both child and parent. Certified teacher and mom, Jillian Olney, will be the instructor for the Parent Child Awareness Gym Class.  This is a six week program.  Classes will be limited to the first 10 who register.  Classes will only run if we have a minimum of five participants in each group.

Zumba Kids

Kids are able to come enjoy all the benefits of Zumba®.  This class helps develop and promote a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives by making fitness fun.  This class is open to kids 5 and up.

November 3rd - December 17th

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Interactive Game Room

Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-5:30pm for ages 5-12. An exciting room featuring a sports wall, Dance Dance Revolution and a big screen TV with a Nintendo Wii. A great blend of fun and exercise! Parents, drop your kids off to exercise while you do your workout. Free! 1 1/2 hour time limit.

Gym & Swim

A ninety minute physical education program for home schooled children ages 5-16. Includes instructed gym class and structured swim. Runs along the school year for 8 week sessions. Join an existing class or start a new one with your own group. Sessions start back up in January and March. After the March session this program will resume again in September.

Youth Night

Youth Night begins November 7th, 5:30pm-7:30pm for grades K-6. Cost for members $2, non-members $4. 

Teen Night

Teen Night for the 2015-1016 school year has ended.  Stay tuned this fall for the 2015-2016 Teen Night dates.

Gym 1 & 2 Schedule

Operation Fit Kids  November 4th - February 26th

According to the American Heart Association, 1 in 3 children are overweight and 1 in 6 are considered obese. Are you worried your child or children might fall into one of these statistics? OPERATION: FIT KIDS is designed to actively engage participants ages 6-11 years old into an intoduction of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle while giving them a fun, creative and optimistic environment. The goal for this program is to determine the overall fitness level of each participant and improve on any deficient areas such as nutrition, physical fitness and social behaviors.

Wednesdays & Fridays 6:00pm - 7:00pm

COST: $120 per participant

Youth and Teen Nights- Saturdays

Our Y's goal is to promote safe and engaging activities to youth in a positive environment. To accomplish this goal, our Y is open exclusively to youth and teens on Saturday nights. Our staff is dedicated to giving youth a great evening of fun and entertainment. We will offer many engaging activities each week that will encourage building new friendships.

Grades K-5  5:30pm-7:30pm

Grades 6-12  8:00pm-9:30pm

Y Achievers- Fridays - 4:00pm - 5:00pm - November 6th - December 18th

Join us for a small group tutoring program that will expand your child's skill levels in both Math and ELA as well as provide a fun, hands-on approach to learning. Instruction is based on the Common Core academic standards and is designed to assist with homework difficulty and advance your child's understanding of troublesome subject areas. Lead by a NYS Certified Educator.

Little Steps: Music & Movement - Fridays - 9:00am - 9:45am - November 6th-December 18th

Do You Have an Active Toddler Ages Birth-4 years?

We strive to develop the whole child and to provide an environment for toddlers to learn, gain self-confidence, make new friends and respect others. This is a great start for parents who are looking for that "first step" to structure for their toddler. This session of little steps will feature music and movement through singing, instrument play, listening and dancing.

COST:  Members  $20  Non-Members  $35

Tumbling - Fridays - November 6th--December 18th

Children will participate in a 7 week program that offers a fun environment to learn the basics of acrobatics and gymnastics. This program will offer stretching, balance, basic tumbling, and social interaction. Parents and guardians who are members of the YMCA are able to attend adult programming while their child participates. In order to meet the needs of various ages, we will run two separate Tumbling classes. Our first class will be offered to children ages 3-5 years old. This class will be followed by another class open to children ages 6-12 years old.

Kids on Camera - Tuesdays - 5:30pm - 6:30pm -November 3rd-December 15th

The YMCA's children 's acting and film programs have grown to serve hundreds of children who have learned self confidence, writing composition skills, public speaking skills and an introduction into the art of film production. kids on Camera is the first class in a series of Arts & Humanities programs coming to the Oneida Y! Participants will learn improvisation, film & TV acting, commercial acting and scene study.

Ages: 6-15

COST:  Members $40  Non-Members  $55

Gym and Swim - Thursdays - 10:30am-12:00pm - November 5th-December 17th 

Gym and Swim is designed for home schooled children to promote interaction with their peers and stay active. This program offers 45 minutes of swimming with instruction and 45 minutes of instructed gym time. Gym and Swim is a good way for kids to stay active, live healthy and meet other home schooled children. Please note, there is a $20 late registration fee for this program.

Hot Shots Co-Ed Basketball League - Wednesdays - 3:15pm-6:00pm - November 4th-December 16th

Come join our non-competitive, recreational leagues that will emphasize sportsmanship and basketball skill development. These leagues are ideal for a variety of players from beginners to those getting ready for 7th and 8th grade. All games will be played at the Oneida Family YMCA with transportation from Oneida City School District available to students.

Ages 5-14 years - Grouped by Age

Bible Study- Wednesdays, 12:00pm -12:45pm 

Join us for an open Bible Study that all are welcome to attend. The study will be led by Pastor Randy Phillips who will lead discussion and the study of I Timothy based on the commentary and study questions of Gospel Preacher and Bible Teacher, Mark Copeland. Copeland uses simplicity to share the gospel and the questions seem to evoke response in a real life scenario.

Rentals and Splash Parties

Any family, group or organization may rent the pool, Party Room or Gymnasium for a private party.  Available Saturday or Sunday afternoons.  Party goers will have private access to the pool as well our party room to hold their celebration.  Bring the whole group and your suits for a unique birthday party celebration!

Family Zumba® - Sundays, 10:15am - 11:00am

Parents/guardians are required to attend the class with their children.

Children's Film Program & Acting

This exciting and educational hands-on film making course introduces your child to all the major tasks involved in getting a film produced. The Program will include 28 weeks of on-camera acting, screen writing and producing. Students will collaborate on out their own professional screen play that will allow each "crew" member to experience their contribution in varying production roles. At the end of their film making journey they will experience a "Red Carpet" moment by having their very own film premier with family and friends to enjoy.

After twenty two years working in Hollywood, as both an Actress and Production Manager at three major studios, Instructor Chase Clifford has returned to the area to teach this fully professional project.
