Program Membership

Are you only looking for classes?  For only $60, an adult may take all of the classes they would like for a full month!  No need to make a full commitment to join, try it before you buy it!  There are no limits to the number of Program Memberships a person may take and may be taken out at any time.

Family Trial Membership

A four week trial membership offers a family full membership privileges for $75.  Membership conversion is available at the end of the trial period.  The Capital Improvement Fee will be waived for families who join!  Contact a Welcome Center Staff member for details.  Trial Memberships must be paid in full.

Membership Cards

Your membership card is verification that you are a member of the YMCA and must be scanned at each location. The scanning of your membership card allows you access into the YMCA. Membership cards are nontransferable and remain the property of the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley. Lost cards may be replaced for a small fee.

Membership to the YMCA

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley reserves the right to suspend or cancel a membership when the member's behavior or language is judged to be in conflict with the welfare of other members or staff, or is a conflict with the YMCA's purpose. The final decision on a suspended membership will be rendered by the Chief Executive Officer.

Reciprocal Membership Policy:

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley participates in the Reciprocal Membership Privileges benefit. The reciprocal benefit entitles members of the Tri-Valley Y to use participating facilities in New York state.  For visitors from YMCAs who participate in the reciprocal membership program, a maximum of 5 visits per month are extended at no charge.  Visitors must present a valid photo ID along with their home YMCA membership card.

AWAY Program

When you travel out of town you can use your YMCA membership card at over 600 YMCAs throughout the country at either no charge or at one-half of that YMCA's guest fee. AWAY stands for " Always Welcome at YMCA's." Membership cards have AWAY preprinted on them. Current national YMCA locations and information is available at www.ymca.net. At the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley, any member outside of a 50-mile radius pays half of the Day Pass fee.

Age Requirements

Requirements for some programs may vary from branch to branch. Check with the branch's member service desk for information on a particular program.

Credit Card and Refund Policy

Credit/Refund Policy The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley does not issue credits or refunds except under the following conditions:

1. A program is cancelled by the YMCA

2. A payment error is made by the YMCA

3.  A member has a medical excuse.  Must provide a doctor's note.

New Member Health Questionnaire

To better serve YMCA members and program participants regarding their safety in exercise activities, all members and participants will be given a "Health Questionnaire" at the time of registration. This form asks questions regarding the major health risks associated with exercise, as identified by the American College of Sports Medicine, and recommends seeking medical advice prior to beginning an exercise program. The YMCA recommends consultation with a physician prior to beginning any exercise program.

Y's Changing Lives Campaign

Each year, the YMCA's Changing Lives Campaign raises funds to provide financial assistance to those who otherwise could not afford YMCA programs and services. If you are interested in helping the YMCA make a difference in our community, contact your local branch to assist as a volunteer or donor.

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley believes that no one should be denied membership or program participation solely because of the inability to pay fees. Financial assistance applications are available at any YMCA branch; contact the branch front desk for more information. Financial assistance is granted through the Y's Changing Lives Campaign based upon available resources. All applications are kept confidential.

Insurance

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley does not carry insurance for participants. Individuals participate at their own risk. We recommend that you consult a physician by telephone or in person before increasing your physical activity and/or taking the physical fitness test.

Capital Improvement Fee

The YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley charges a fee to all new members in order to provide a source of funds for enhancing membership services. This fee non-refundable and must be paid in full at the time of joining. A lapse in membership of 30 days or more requires payment of the Building Improvement Fund to reinstate membership.

Lockers are for daily use only. Members are encouraged to bring a lock for their valuables.

Note to Members

30 days written notice is required for terminating membership.
Rejoining: A rejoining fee will be charged for any membership which has been expired for more than 30 days. A $20.00 Service Charge will be assessed for any item returned to the YMCA such as but not limited to: insufficient funds, closed bank account, invalid or incorrect credit card number.  Young Adult/College Memberships require participation for a minimum of one year.  Termination before one full year will result in full year's payment due upon termination.
